TYPES OF SCHOOLS IN SARAWAK





Education in Malaysia is overseen by the Ministry of Education (Kementerian Pendidikan), which handles matters pertaining to pre-school, primary school, secondary school, post-secondary school and tertiary education . Although education is the responsibility of the federal government, each state has an Education Department to coordinate educational matters in its territory. The main legislation governing education is the Education Act of 1996.

A quick search on the Internet would show that there are some 15 classifications of schools in Sarawak, namely:

Bonding session for Participants


The bonding session for participants will be held on Monday 12 May 2014 from 2.00pm to 3.30pm, also in the AVA Room on Level 3.

OVERSEAS LEARNING JOURNEY TO KUCHING SARAWAK - 22 TO 25 MAY 2014


Sarawak, highlighted in red below, is one of two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo. Known as Bumi Kenyalang or the Land of the Hornbills, Sarawak is situated on the northwest of the island, bordering the Malaysian state of Sabah to the northeast, Indonesia to the south, and surrounding Brunei. It is the largest Malaysian state.



The administrative capital of Sarawak is Kuching and the state flag and coat-of-arms are shown below.

A group of 36 Primary 5 students and 5 teacher chaperones will be visiting this Land of the Hornbills as part of the school's Trips for International Experience (TIE) programme.
