VISIT TO SJK CHUNG HUA KRANJI

We visited SJK Chung Hua Kranji ....

... where we received a very warm welcome from Mdm Wong, the Principal...

... and where VP(A) Mr Cheah returned Gongshang's thanks and gratitude to SJK CH Kranji for agreeing to host us at such short notice.

The School Leaders exchanged tokens of friendship and appreciation

We were further welcomed by the school's top student's solo rendition of "It's a Small World"......

... and in turn, we led our hosts through the action song, Epo I Tai Tai, which means "We shall not be sad, we will only be happy" in Maori

We were then brought on a tour of the school by the school staff...

... starting with Mdm Wong's office...

...and the General Office...

... to the Staff Room...

... ICT Room...

...passing their School Bell...

... their Resource Room...

... and classrooms (they have less than 150 students, with 1 class per level averaging 25 students)...

...but they have a Pre-school Wing. This shows how much the school serves and is plugged into the community

Part of the students' activities and responsibilities is to tend to their various vegetable plots...

After the tour, we were immersed in a Chinese Proverbs lesson...

... after which students of both schools were formed into 6 mixed teams ...

... and underwent 5 challenging stations sited across the school that involved puzzles and activities based on moral values, competing against time and each other.

The 5-station challenge ended with a Prize Presentation ceremony, and Mrs Ng and Mr Cheah had the honours of presenting the prizes...

All too soon, our visit had to come to an end. After our students presented their new-found friends with souvenirs from Singapore and hand-made tokens, Mdm Norizah presented Mdm Chin, their Senior Assistant with souvenirs for the staff and students....

... and Mr Cheah presented Mdm Wong  some 200 EL books that we had brought over in 4 cardboard boxes

We were treated to a delicious tea reception and had our group photos taken...
